Ruxandra Rafols, known as Roxy, is the operational heart of Union Station. As Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, she leads the company’s strategic execution and infrastructure, drawing on a deep well of experience in high-pressure, high-touch environments. With a formal background in neuroscience and a master’s degree in psychology specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis, Roxy brings a nuanced understanding of human behavior, systems thinking, and organizational flow.
Roxy’s professional journey has spanned hospitality, healthcare, event management, and executive-level administration. She’s managed fine dining restaurants alongside Michelin-starred chefs, opened multiple successful venues, and created streamlined operational systems from the ground up. As Executive Assistant and Administrative Director at Heirloom Kitchen, she wore every hat—from guest relations and handbook authoring to POS programming and inventory management—establishing herself as a powerhouse of operational leadership.
In her earlier role at Beacon Health Strategies, Roxy served as Autism Case Manager, becoming the primary liaison between families, therapists, and insurance providers. Her ability to manage sensitive information, create efficient support structures, and advocate for client outcomes mirrors the care and clarity she brings to Union Station’s operations today.
At Union Station, Roxy’s role transcends traditional operations. She is a platform builder, UX analyst, and project manager. She regularly meets with developers to ensure that features are tested in real-world conditions, oversees grant writing and investor communications, and coordinates outreach and onboarding for venues, artists, and managers.
Roxy toured with her co-founder Allyson MacIvor across Canada, gaining on-the-ground insight into artist needs, venue workflows, and the pain points that plague the live music industry. This hands-on experience now fuels her mission to solve those issues through technology. She is particularly passionate about simplifying processes, eliminating friction, and delivering a platform that feels like second nature to its users.
Known for her emotional intelligence, calm under pressure, and tactical foresight, Roxy is the backbone of Union Station. As an EU citizen, she will also lead Union Station’s expansion into European markets post-U.S. launch.
